Leilon

Leilon is a small mining town located along the Trade Way, north of the Mere of Dead Men.
The town was destroyed in 1385, but was rebuilt a century later in 1485 on the orders of Lord Dagult Neverember, who wanted to to ensure there was a safe place for travelers to rest between Waterdeep and Neverwinter.
In 1496, Leilon's existence was again threatened, this time by Hill Giants led by Chief Guh, who had set up a large dam nearby, named Grudd Haug. The giants, who were extorting the town's residents for tribute and livestock, were driven off by the Heroes of Saltmarsh. In return for their aid, Leilon joined the temporary Dunwater Alliance and pledged its militia to guard Saltmarsh while the town's forces were participating in the Battle of the Spire.

Defences

Following its rebuilding, the bulk of Leilon's defenses were handled by the Leilon Lancers, the town's horseback-riding militia that sat around 200 strong.
