Neronvain's Lair

Neronvain's Lair is the name given to the hidden cave behind a waterfall in the Misty Forest used by the Green Wyrmspeaker Neronvain and his green dragon Chuth during their campaign of raiding the Kingdom of the Woods.

Purpose / Function

The lair was designed to both serve as a location to store Chuth's hoard and to have a secret base in the Misty Forest Neronvain could retreat to after raiding an elven village.   The inside of the lair had rooms for various lower ranked members of the Cult of the Dragon, a housing room for ettin servants, a personal room for Neronvain, and Chuth's lair, which could only be reached through an underwater passage or a secret entrance in Neronvain's room.

History

In early 1492, Neronvain and Chuth established this lair to serve as a forward base during their campaign against the Kingdom of the Woods  The lair was discovered or nearly discovered multiple times, but all who did so were captured and quickly killed. The last person to be captured in such a way was Emmyth, a paladin of Corellon.   In mid-1492, the Breadwinners, on assignment for Prince Alagarthas, discovered the lair while Neronvain and Chuth were away. They dispatched most of the guards inside and summoned Chuth by disturbing his hoard. After a fierce fight, Neronvain was killed in a fireball cast by Ava of the Wilds and Chuth was slain by an arrow fired by Legolass Darkblade. Eilidh Stormheart was also, temporarily, killed by Bastion in the chaos of the fight.
