Pallu Pierce is a
half-elf residing in
Waterdeep and one of the younger brothers of
Micah Pierce, one of the
Heroes of Saltmarsh.
History
Pallu was born in 1479 alongside his twin brother Reuben to a
human father, Warren, and an
elven mother, Calisa. The Pierce family was quite large, and Pallu was born in the middle, with Micah and
Seraphina as an older brother and sister respectively, and Leora as a younger sister.
In late 1496, Pallu was kidnapped by agents of the
aboleth S'gothgah, inflicted with a mind-controlling
Banesmark, and smuggled to the
aboleth's base in the
Styes. This was done because Pallu's older brother Micah had became a thorn in S'gothgah's side over the course of the
Banesmark Crisis, and the aboleth had identified Micah's family as a potential weak point that could be exploited should the Heroes of Saltmarsh attack the aboleth's base.
That decision was well-founded, as the Heroes attacked the
Seaton Temple of Bane at the very end of 1496. However, the group misinterpreted the robed figures in the central chamber as true believers of
Bane, and
Necian Arrzen launched a fireball into the room, killing many of the mind-controlled occupants. However, the fireball missed Pallu, who fled out into the Styes once the aboleth's control over him was broken.
Pallu remained in the gutters of the Styes for a few days before he was retrieved by the
Blackstaves of
Waterdeep and had his Banesmark removed.
Though he was returned to his family, Pallu's experience in the Styes mentally scarred the young man, leaving him troubled and often acting out. In 1497 Pallu visited Micah, and the two began to form a strong bond based on their shared trauma, which helped Pallu start to heal.
