Plowshare Militia
The Plowshare Militia was a short-lived organization of tenant farmers and peasants from Salt Lake that deposed baron Artus Goldfinch and attempted to secure control over the land in which they worked. They were disbanded following the Siege of Salt Lake.
Structure
The Plowshare Militia was extremely disorganized. Harvest's position was the only clearly defined one, at the top of the hierarchy, and this lead to a number of issues throughout the course of the Siege of Salt Lake. As the siege progressed, members of the militia did begin to create a military hierarchy, but this was only loosely defined and often suffered from an over reliance on seeking approval from Harvest before making any decisive action.
Public Agenda
History
Starting in 1491, a Salt Lake tenant farmer named Jonah Ward, better known by his moniker Harvest, began secretly organizing the small town's peasantry to launch an uprising against the town's baron, Artus Goldfinch.
Harvest saw his opportunity when Artus fell ill in early 1492. On the 12th of Hammer, Harvest officially organized the Plowshare Militia and led their takeover of Salt Lake, confining Artus and Enya Goldfinch to house arrest. The deeds of the Militia spread throughout Amphail and its vassals, and drew the attention of farmers all around Amphail, many of whom left their fields and flocked to Salt Lake to join the fight. Worried about the destabilizing effects a peasant uprising could have, and afraid of a potential drought if farmers didn't return to their fields, Lord Dauner Ilzimmer of Amphail ordered his levies drawn. Led by Harmon Tholme, the forces of Amphail arrived outside Salt Lake on the 12th of Ches, beginning the Siege of Salt Lake.

Disbandment
On the 7th of Tarsakh, the Breadwinners negotiated a peace settlement between the Plowshare Militia and the forces of Amphail. In exchange for creating the Salt Lake Council, the Plowshare Militia had to be dissolved by the end of the month and all peasants not from Salt Lake had to return to their farms. In accordance with the settlement, the militia was disbanded on the 30th of Tarsakh.
