Crusade of Samaria/Samarian Crusade
The Crusade of Samaria began as a study group within the higher ranks of Qabalis Omrini initiates, taking upon itself the charge of the "well-being of the Lineage" and organizing the Missionary work of the sect.
As the sect expanded to other worlds of the Diaspora, the Crusade of Samaria became the arm of the sect that facilitated the founding of shrines and consecration of Temples and, not incidentally, their security, especially as the speed and militancy of expansion increased and the sect began to experience opposition.
The Samarian Crusade (as an organization) began as an offshoot, initially a secret society within the Crusade of Samaria, taking on the role of "anti-persecutionists". They became extremely militant, developed their own heirarchy of "Warriors of the Lineage", and were ultimately responsible for some, if not all, of the more violent actions during the Samarian Crusade military conflict.
After the bombing of Phlegesto in 2579 the Central Temple repudiated the Samarian Crusade as schismatic. After the collapse of the Omrini Administration on Califersa in the wake of the conflict, they disbanded the Crusade of Samaria, subsuming its functions into the newly-formed Minor Priesthood.
