Cicada died making a heroic sacrifice to save his friends during a Mind Flayer attack lead by Gimgen in Amberlight. Cicada was restored to life during mid-301 PS after making a deal with The Navigator and The Scientist while trapped in The Underworld. Cicada was tasked with protecting a child that was created during one of the Scientist's experiments. This child is the daughter of The Pyreburner and The Frostbearer.
