From the Ashes of War
Background
The year is 2 PS (Post Scouring). The adventuring party are war heroes from The Scouring, now members of the newly formed The Imperium Alliance based in the ruins of Cindergate. The central Cindergate District was relatively untouched by the war due to magical defences that held out to the last days of the war. A few other places in the city managed to survive the war, including: Dragonspeak Castle (a large heavily fortified castle to the north of the city on a rocky outcrop), Hall of the Bone Collectors (where dangerous artifacts from the war and earlier are stored and protected), and the outer walls which are still standing but in bad condition. The rebuild of the city has been going quickly, with the surviving military taking up jobs as builders. Individuals and families who lived in rural areas have taken the opportunity to move into the city to take advantage of any post-war possibilities. There has also been an large influx of Gnomes, Dwarves as well as Humans. However, many of the Elves have migrated elsewhere, with some regretting their alliance with the humans. Aid has been granted by other areas of Oros, though mostly from Hollowholt who survived the best out of the areas of Oros. The aftermath of the war has had a strange effect on all other involved directly and indirectly. Memories from the war distort, corrupt, and disappear. No one remembers who were the avatars that defeated The Pyreburner, no one remembers what Amberlight was like before its destruction, no one remembers seeing the Pyreburner himself, and his armies of fiends seem like a blur. That was the price paid to end The Scouring. When the Pyreburner fell, most of his fiendish army disappeared to where they came from. But there are still groups of fiends that exist in the Tempest Realm, now with their own agendas and plans.The Adventure
