Ice Pox
Transmission & Vectors
The Ice Pox is transmitted via physical touch. This can be direct person-to-person contact, or it can be indirectly with the virus living on an object for 24 hours after an infected individual was in contact with it.
Symptoms
The first few days there are no syptoms, however the infected person is contagious within 24 hours of being infected.
After a few days the first syptoms will appear. Blue blisters will appear across the infected persons body. These blisters will often be very itchy The infected person will often feel very tired, requiring much more sleep than normal.
If the virus gets worse, the infected person's body will drop in temperature.
In very rare cases, the infected person will die from hypothermia.
Treatment
If left untreated, the virus often passes after one to two weeks.
The best treatment for the virus is to keep the infected person warm. Consuming alcohol can also lessen the syptoms, but this is not recommended for children.
Affected Groups
Ice Pox can infect anyone, but children seem to catch the Ice Pox the most.
Prevention
The best way to prevent the spread of Ice Pox is to isolate those who are infected.
