Gopul Falls

Gopul Falls is the point where the Gopul River runs over the planetary rim of Asgard.

Traditional Aesir belief is that the waters of the Falls land on Niffleheim, and funerals are therefore held on the river, so that the falls can carry the dead straight to the afterlife.

However, in reality the falling water enters the atmosphere, becoming rain on the continent of Kaldur, seeming into the cave systems of the Realm Below, and ultimately feeding back into the source of the Gopul in the Asgard Mountains.
