Gopul River

The Gopul is the longest river in Asgard, begining at its source in the Asgard Mountains, on the slopes of mount Hlidskjalf, and ending at the Gopul Falls in Asgardia.

The largest tributary of the Gopul, Hvergelmir, connects it to the Sea of Marmora.

The river is sacred in the Asgardian religion, as they believe the water of the Falls lands on Niffleheim. Aesir funerals take place on the river, with the bodies being placed on the river in burning boats, to be carried straight to Valhalah.
