Human Mutates

A mutate is a being who acquired a physical characteristic through exposure to one or more mutagenic agents such as magic, chemicals or radiation. Superhumans who were not born with the potential to access innate superhuman powers are mutates.

Human mutates are sometimes called altered humans.

Human Mutates who gained their mutation due to exposure to Gamma Radiation are clasified as Gamma Mutants, while those who were given a variant of the Super-Soldier Serum are usually classified as Super-Soldiers, however the distinction is not clearl cut, as both Bruce Banner and Betty Ross were given a dose of Serum proir to their exposure to Gamma Radiation.

Although they originate from humans who underwent mutagenic experients, Inhumans are considered to be distinct from mutates as they have largely evolved sepperately from humans since their first appearance, and have consistent biological traits, unlike other mutates.
