Act III – Race to the Inventor
Paolo, Trent, Bourbon, Jesse, and Virgil race to repair the yacht that the Humbabans sabotaged, and find an unlikely sixth member for their crew.
They make it in time for the race to begin and are one of five yachts to make the starting line.
While the race goes on Laszlo carries a bound and gagged Private Wilhelm across the bottom of the crater that is Lake Nuwattah-Nuwattah, to the place where the jellyfish stay most of the time. He gets Wilhelm stung just before the jellyfish link up in their annual network.
Two opposing parties ambush the yachts and only the two yachts belonging to the local high school team, and the high school team from the capital, remain in the race. The other yachts crash and the heroes go in search of Daedalus's location.
Paolo and the others find Daedalus first, but the Humbabans turn up and kills Daedalus, which triggers a fail-safe device which would be a doomsday weapon, but it doesn't function as intended, and Paolo has his hero moment and saves the planet.
