The Sea of Fallen Stars

The Sea of Fallen Stars is a large saltwater sea that lies near the middle of Faerun. Sembia represents, roughly, the northwestern coast of this sea.
To sail on The Sea of Fallen Stars was a historically dangerous journey, but recently The Castore Family acquired The Dragon's Hoard from Tyralgarde the Invincible. One of their primary projects was to use magic to tame the violent seas. This allowed for safe sea passages, primarily aimed at the city of Selgaunt. Today, a ship can sail from Selgaunt to the distant cities of Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter, far away on the Sword Coast.
The Sea contains many shipwrecks, long lost artifacts, dangerous monsters, and other curiosities. Sailors warn to avoid the reefs near Exaltia and Mulhessen, enjoy the magical breeze near Yhaunn, and trust that the magic of the Storm's Eye will send your ship across the sea with supernatural speed.
