Pokemon: Wish Upon a Star

New Horizons: Wish Upon a Star is the first special of Pokemon: New Horizons. It follows the efforts of Mige and his friends as they help Will Tahjiri to seek out the legendary Pokemon known as Jirachi, the Wishing Star Pokemon, in a desperate race against the clock to save Lara's life with a wish.

Blurb

After lots of reflection after a call from Will Tahjiri Mige has decided to help him on his quest to find Jirachi with the help of Jenn, Crystal and Kia. Will and his childhood friend Garnet would end up leading Mige and company alongside some old friends from Kanto through the Fiore region west of Johto in hopes of contacting what they believe their only lead to find Jirachi-- former Pokemon champion Noland.

Wish Upon a Star is divided into 6 episodic parts taking place prominently in Fiore but also Lumiose City, Cerulean City, Cape Cerulean and Olivine City.

Mige, Crystal, Jenn and Kia are all major characters in Wish Upon a Star and are joined by other characters Mige met throughout The Indigo Chronicles such as Lara, Will, Louis and Charlie. Although not prominently featured other characters in New Horizons have smaller appearances as the special begins in Lumiose City.

Trivia

• This special is the debut of both Jirachi and Articuno.
• An unknown regional evolution of Wingull can be seen. It is notably unrecognized by the pokedex and left unnamed.
• Louis' birth name was revealed to be Ludwig Rosenfield though Charlie's legal name is merely Charlie.
• The primary cast featured in the special contains the largest reunion of 2020 Indigo League Top 32 competitors to date at 7 members.
• This is the first appearance of Samuel in which he does not compete in a contest.
• He does, however, partake in activities such as dancing, eating and playing video games-- all of which are contests that he competed in with Mige, Tim and Ace in Enter: The King of the Contest?
• Samuel's Medicham, Windu, notably only successfully hits an opponent once with all his other attacks resulting in misses.
• This is the first special to include major characters from Pokemon: Seasons despite it not being a special attached to that series as Kia, Colton and Tessa all appear.
• Both of Mige's primary Indigo Chronicles outfits, along with his Godfall outfit, are seen in this special.
• The first time a character had Orange Julius is in this special. It is notable as the only real-world food and drink chain to be present in the Pokemon World.
