The Church of the Night
One of the great churches dedicated to The Nine Gods, the Church of the Night worships Ambran, God of the Night. Based primarily in the Grand Duchy of Kharsyt, the reach of the Church extends throughout most of the Known World, though their influence and presence are notably less outside of Noctirnan.
Public Agenda
To lead the followers of Ambran and to spread his word and blessings to all that would receive them.
Assets
In addition to the various temples, orphanages, and other buildings the Church owns, they also have the aid and support of the Brotherhood of the Long Night, a holy army of sorts that has roughly 250,000 soldiers of various kinds and spread out through the major places of the Church's power
Priesthood
The majority of priests and priestesses of this religion are often referred to as Star Gazers or Gazers with the higher up members often referred to as Star Recorders or Recorders. The Gazers wear black robes or clothing with small pieces of metal embedded to represent the stars and lined with a silver cloth. They are permitted to live within housing provided by the church and handle various menial tasks throughout the church's temples. Recorders wear clothing similar to Gazers but they have silver thread added to connect to stars thus creating various constellations. Some copy real constellations onto their clothing while others create constellations that represent major events in their life or the nation they are from. Recorders are permitted to preach to others, go on religious missions, lead small temples, and deliver small blessings. Above the Recorders, there are the Hands of the Moons, priests and priestess believed to be chosen by the moons. A Hand oversees large temples or regions, chooses those elevated to Recorder, run orphanages, hold important masses, and deliver most blessings. To become a Hand you must either chosen by a moon or selected by the Star Listener themself. At the very top of the church is the Star Listener or Stal, an individual who is said to hear the voices of the stars themselves and are chosen by Ambran himself. It is said that when a new Stal needs to be chosen he shows all of the Hands a vision of his chosen one. The Stal shapes the direction the Church follows, oversees the Forum of Stars, delivers blessings and miracles, and directs the Brotherhood of the Long Night, the Church's militant branch.

The most devout priests and priestesses of the church are often blessed with the ability to see in the dark among other things.
Political Influence & Intrigue
Though the Church of the Night can be found throughout much of the known world it has deep strong ties to the Grand Duchy of Kharsyt in Noctirnan. There they have their main temple, The Forum of Stars as well as the Stal, the leader of the Church of the Night. Because they are the primary religion of the Grand Duchy and their seat of power is in Kharsyt, some of the higher up priests have positions within the government or serve as advisors of all sorts. More than one of the policies enacted by the Grand Duchy originated from a member of the Church of the Night or the Stal himself.

There are various smaller sects within the church that focus on one of the moons or one of the major constellations.
