Tenets of Faith

  • Preserve and Protect: Followers of Alpadia hold that all information must be recorded and safeguarded for future use. Defacement or destruction of written works warrants appropriate punishment, unless the perpetrator replaces the lost information in full.
  • Share and Distribute: It is mandated that every believer diligently records their encounters and distributes their writings to the temples. Accessibility to information is a fundamental principle, ensuring it is available to all.
  • Promote Literacy: Literacy stands as a paramount value within the faith. Every individual is encouraged to learn to read and write, emphasizing the importance of education for all.
  • Oath of Charity: Believers undertake an oath of charity, obligating them to fulfill requests for writing letters and transcribing information without refusal. Those in need, particularly the impoverished, should receive these services without charge.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Alpaida was considered to be a Greater Power in the times of the Menedynn Empire, however their fall and the raid of Ervenius on his infinite library left him a Demi power.   Alpaida then again became a Lesser Power by 1,954 BB, however, he was reduced again to Lesser Power after countless battles with Vecna and the rise of Sophis.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Alpaida, despite possessing a vast reservoir of knowledge, struggles to share it due to a charmingly absent-minded nature. His thoughts often race down multiple paths at once, leading him to lose focus and trail off mid-sentence. Prepare yourself for epic tales that weave intricate side stories into the main narrative, as Alpaida delves into every fascinating tangent that crosses his mind.   Furthermore, Alpaida can be a bit out of touch with the modern world. His attempts to sound current often come across as hilariously dated, with long-forgotten etiquette practices and slang terms used to bewildering effect.   Despite these quirks, Alpadia is a patient and calm deity, more dedicated scholar than raging madman. Though his stories may be long-winded, they invariably hold an important piece of knowledge for those who persevere through them.   This revision uses a lighter and more humorous tone to portray Alpadia's absent-mindedness and outdated tendencies. It emphasizes his dedication to knowledge and the hidden value within his rambling stories.
