Plumerot

Plumerot is a disease that was thought to be only found within Birds, however, it was also found in Ethil-Quessiri and later on, every creature that could have sprout feather-like wings.   Pluemrot is a severe respiratory disease that can be fatal and which also effect the wings of many birds and feather like creatures. One form of the disease fills the lungs with dying flesh, suffocating the victim. Another form dries out the lungs, reducing their capacity and eventually causing suffocation.

Plumerot is a highly contagious respiratory disease that spread through the air.

Symptoms

It is characterized by a severe cough, difficulty breathing, and a progressive decline in lung function and the syptoms can usually be classed as follow:
  • Persistent cough;
  • Shortness of Breath;
  • Chest Pain;
  • Rotting Wings
  • Fatigue
  • Weight Loss
  • Fever

Treatment

There is no known cure for Plumerot. Treatment focuses on managing symptoms and preventing complications. Early diagnosis and treatment are essential for survival.   Assisted manual ventilation is ineffective against Plumerot, as the problem lies in the lungs' inability to process oxygen and the wings to actually work. Victims become weak and disoriented, making them vulnerable to exploitation. Even with treatment, recovery can take over ten days, and dehydration can be fatal.

Prognosis

Plumerot rapidly worsens, leading to respiratory failure and death. If left untreated, death can occur within Asira.

Sequela

Those who survive plumerot develop immunity but may experience breathing difficulties in dry weather.

Prevention

The best way to prevent Plumerot is to avoid exposure to infected individuals. Vaccination is also available in some regions.

History

The Plumerot had ravaged The Wild Brashlands and later on spread to the whole of Rakion after Avariel from Faenya-Dail had come as traders and inflicted many creatures there.
