After the death of Emperor Leandros of Eraseth, The Council of Thereus denounces Heir apparent Aramis Tissareth I, as they had sworn fealty to the Osteroth family and didn't trust the Tissareths. An army is sent to the city of Thereus to arrest and execute the Council of 12.
1 week after the defiant act, Lady Orla Figglebaum and her 11 colleagues are taken from the Parliament of The Pearlhall to Fort Keepsake that meets the water in the harbour. There, out in the open air, Counsellor Darsar Greatstar sets up a trial. This gruelling event takes 2 days and is a giant smear campaign. Every council member is painted as a terrible person. Lady Orla Figglebaum was sentenced to death on charges of treason against the crown, conspiring to a rebel, conspiring to commit murder and following a non-empire mandated deity. The eleven members were given the choice of execution, poison, firing squad or hanging. Military leader Oberin Krass was forced to take hanging, during the coming war a noose became a military mocking symbol. Figglebaum was shackled and kept awake for 24 hours, her colleagues dropped one by one at her feet. Afterwards at sundown taken to the edge of the harbour and beheaded.
