Empire of Losaria

Empire of the Black Sun

Provinces

Losaria

The main Province and smallest is that of the capital. Losaria is the land surrounding the Capital city of Iropolis. Its where the title of Emperor of Losaria originally comes from, it also is where the name of the continent comes from. Rich with trade, industry, and farming for the small size they are quite capable of sustaining themselves. The capi

Sarenth

Directly to the north lies Sarenth, which borders the river Irileth its capital is Dellophia. In Sarenth the farmer and the tinkerer are important denizens. The province's main contributions to the Empire is its utilities, inventions and its soldiers. Most recruits from Sarenth are trained somewhere else and then brought back to the province as the most loyal border patrol an empire could ever wish for. Due to their personal connection with the land, they are the ones chosen to keep it.

Serine Valley

The Serine Valley is home to the trading and travelling hub of Serine. Many if not all recruits are sent to the Serine Valley, to Staertdale fort. Working ground for the elite warriors of both the Myrtosian guard, the Order of Balance, the Valiant Guardians and the Legion of Irileth, the Serine Valley is home to the most residents with cities spread across it. There are the harbours of Tineport and Tirion, the farming community of Pellisos, and lastly the Elvish city of Yers Goroth located on the border with Myrto is the hub for the small folk in the Empire. The region of the Valley is marked by rolling hills, lush forests and large fields of grain. Cities like Serine and Pellisos are located on the banks of freshwater lakes bringing and the east coast of the province is the Sunrise crest.

Myrto

Myrto. A name from which the entire country hails its name. Myrto encompasses the south of the continent. The capital of Isayth  is one of the earliest allies Iropolis has known and remains to be its strongest companion in the world. The woods of Myrto are old and touched by the Wildmother. The area is full of ancient fallen sites and temples. There is no official magic school in the Empire but there are independent people who offer their educational services to those that do not wish to go or send their children to Trodworth.

Vildrun

Vildrun. The largest province isn't a province at all, on paper and in most civilians' minds it is an autonomous province but any official high enough on the chain of command Vildrun is a puppet state held aloft by promises. The empire keeps an iron grip on the Wilds beyond the mountains. The wood-elves of the Wild are a separate council and follow the direct will of Emperor Tissareth. The Wilds of Vildrun is a council of representatives made up of the various druidic orders, villages and the cities of Moonscar and Esmershys

Demography and Population

the Losarian empire is a diverse land where the common races of Dungeons and Dragons live. However, the more monstrous races feel uneasy living in the empire, thus they are less common.
  • The most common form of elf is the Dawn elf.
  • The most common dwarf is the Hill dwarf that hails from Muriax. There are mountain Dwarves they are in smaller numbers.
The capital city, Iropolis, is the largest and oldest of the Empire. Its architecture is packed with elven influences, namely domes and towers and columns. the largest temple is that of Pelor the Dawnfather.   Isayth is the second-largest city find the Empire. It is a port city in the southeast of Myrto and an important first step in the trade route to Iropolis. its architecture is a mixture of dwarven, elvish and Goblike.   Serine, a crossroads between Iropolis, Dellophia, Isayth and Cabback, is a hub in the middle of the empire. The warm homes of the Serine Valley have welcomed many a traveller, never the end destination but an important stop along the road nonetheless. Halfling and Gnome influences adorn the fields and farms of the Valley.   Dellophia the northernmost city of the empire, on the banks of the river Irileth, the city is an important part of the history of Losaria. At Dellophia is where Isabella the Conquerer, First of her name, Empress of Losaria seized control of the lands south of the river Irileth. In the Hall of the Riverlands Isabella slew Lord Movax and gained control of his lands ending the alliance of the defiant city-states.

Military

Ranks (Lowest to Highest): Armsman, Sergeant, Sergeant Major, Lieutenant, Captain, Major, Colonel, General. Decorations: Losarian Sun (for valour), Flower of hope (for service to the realm), a ribbon of Staerdale (for bravery under fire), Iron Gauntlet (for unsurpassed heroism).   The Combined army of the realm consists of the Valiant guardians, the Myrtosian guard and the Legion of Irileth.
  • Valiant Guardians
Valiant guardians are a group of soldiers that function as the regular army, they might function as hired guards for the rich or help out in law enforcement. They're the guards assigned to lower to mid-level nobility. However, when the Empire sees the need for it, they can call upon some Valiant Guardians to join the armed forces.
  • Myrtosian Guard
The Myrtosian Guard is the city guard of Iropolis and the career soldiers of the empire. They're the guards assigned to the protection of the nobility of the cities and the members of the Council. During downtime, they serve matters of the crown and act as the local governmental militias as opposed to the Valiant guardians who can be hired by anyone.
  • Legion of Irileth
Legion of Irileth, the smallest yet oldest part of the empire military might. They are the Royal family's personal bodyguard and army. They serve and answer only to the Prime Counselor and the family of Tissareth.
  • The Anakrisi
The Spy network of the Empire is the Anakrisi, they keep the noble houses, the Polimistes, in check while also providing intel on other geopolitical issues in the world. The Anakrisi answer to Jon Renfric and sometimes operate outside the knowledge of the Emperor.

Religion

The Empire follows strict enforcement of the Alliance of dawn. Entities like the Anakrisi or the Servants of the Wheel exist to sus out fanaticism of The Dark Pact, being a Whisperer is outlawed, this means that any form of religion, or zealous behaviour around the Dark Pact is a highly punishable offence. Folk religions and Cults like those who follow fey and nature spirits live in scrutiny.

Foreign Relations

Mytosian foreign relations are known to be vigilantly hostile. They are hostile to Thereus for the revolution, they are indifferent to the Triplets as they see them as unimportant players on the larger geopolitical stage.    They recognise Thereus' power and move carefully as to not provoke war. Thereus takes a very active stance against Myrto's hold of Vildrun, claiming the Wilds would prosper independently or even as a part of the Republic. Prime Counselor Jon Renfric recognises that Vildrun is a puppet state but he believes that oppression through the empire is better than the fake promise of being a province in the Republic of Thereus.
  • "Giving the elves of Vildrun their own autonomous council under the crown of the Empire is valuable. We've created a society in those woods where the belief of safety comes through the taxes and military presence we provide."
Vildrun gets to make their own decisions in return for coin and blade.   Renfric is also convinced that, despite Greadorian efforts, the future of an empire lies not with colonialism but with the strength and unity within the motherland.
  • "Take Löften, the Auralians, the Ravens, they've taken a piece of desert and oasis and called it a meaningful addition to their realm. While their colonial forces export fine fabrics and missionaries from Achra-Zarkan the Dwarves of Dashingfall in the east are speaking of rising up with their brothers from Gaelia, the elves of Arnfell are starving in their woods for unknown reasons. They hold The Jewel of The Night but can't keep their riches at home alive."

Education

Every larger town has some form of general education, after a certain age, the children of the realm are allowed to continue learning at what is called a Mastership, learning a specific craft. In the cities of the empire, there are libraries and universities, the biggest of these being in Isayth and Iropolis.   Magical education is expected to be followed at the Trodworth Institute of Magic and Wizardry. This is not popular as people are then meant to send their children to Thereus. For those up the social ladder, children can follow private education from court mages and royal tutors. Sometimes but not often a Lord or Baron allows his halls to be open for other children in their county to come and study.   Training to fight in the military is done at Staerdale Fort in the Serine Valley, this path does not include adventuring. Staerdale is meant for the training of military personnel, Guards and special battalions. Those that wish to become adventurers or dungeoneers must travel to Kethas and follow training under the Golden Cloaks. One does not have to travel all the way to become an adventurer in Losaria within most cities and outside more of them, the Golden Cloaks have camps stationed all throughout the continent.

Infrastructure

Losaria is ancient therefore they adapted to certain types of plumbing, road networks and architecture fairly early in the individual cities however quickly after Isabella of Eraseth rose to power she made it standard for the realm to stay parallel on developments, following them with great intent.
