Casmonte

Casmonte is the capital city of the Kingdom of Coraway, found in the cold north of the Ammestino Coast.

Description

Casmonte is a sprawling coastal metropolis that has cropped up in the ruins of a Psionic Scourge port city. As such, it is a mixture of smooth-walled obsidian structures left behind by their alien architects and newer mortal-made buildings made from stucco and clay tile.
Buildings in Casmonte are generally wider than they are tall, this thanks in part to the fact that there is no outer wall surrounding the city. Without a physical boundary, there is little reason to build vertically instead of horizontally, or to limit the size of yards and other outdoor spaces. This is also the reason Casmonte has expanded further and further along the Ammestino Coast as it has grown.
The architectural style of the city favors a simple kind of elegance: most buildings are more or less unadorned, save for the occasional engraved or spiraled pillar. Instead, the functional elements of the structure (the walls, the roofs, the balconies, etc.) are arranged in such a way that the building itself is an adornment. Arched doorways are common, as are gabled roofs covered with red or brown tile.
Though the city has naturally developed areas that are exclusively residential and areas that are exclusively commercial, a mixture of activity can be found all across Casmonte, and there are no official districts.
