Electromagnetic Decoy Gun

Weapon used for electronic warfare used by the Hyperion Federation. The EM Decoy Gun is capable of placing EM decoys near the ship, which are small tears in space, similar to but not actually a Spatial Rift. EM Decoys emit a huge energy signature, designed to be consistent with that of Hyperion starships and trick their enemy into firing at the decoy rather than the starship. They require a lot of energy to place and are temporary. The EM decoy is used quite commonly and sometimes paired with hologram projectors that perfectly resemble HF starships. This way, an enemy force can fire at the hologram and remain decieved as their projectiles will appear to explode on the hull of the ship as the hologram also projects explosions and damage effects on hit. Some forces have described these holograms looking more real than a real thing. The device was invented by the Republic of Vanadia with the intent to confuse enemies of the HF. The team tasked with designing it was rewarded with a lot of honor as their prototype exceeded all expectations and almost perfectly performed its role. The device was improved by Ace War-Engineers and then placed into actual use.
