Phi Tulan B II
A large planet orbiting Phi Tulan B, of the Phi Tulan Trinary System, owned by the Sulethis Republic.
Phi Tulan B II is one of the few planets in the star system to form magnetic monopoles. These have formed under the extreme conditions of the massive parent star undergoing supernova, the planet being bombarded with very intense radiation. The monopoles are being extracted by the Sulethis Republic, which uses them to build larger, even more powerful railguns and to perform various science experiments on. The monopoles, which are some of the rarest forms of exotic matter in existance, makes the world highly valuable.
As such, the SR has defended the world with a huge number of defence platforms. Starships are more rare due to the shortage of crew nearby. However, the planet is also very dangerous. This has caused the SR to invest a lot of resources in protection equioment for crew and mining equipment. This has also somewhat increased the mass of loads to be transported to the planet. The dangers come in the form of the intense magnetic field of the neutron star interfering with equipment and intense geological activity from the energies caused by that. The magnetic field can also damage metal veins in the planet and potentially cause damage to mining equipment. Furthermore, the world is extremely dark as the neutron star emits no light other than intense gamma rays emitted by the pole. As such, they also had to bring various bright lights to navigate the world. This has resulted in some incidents where some individuals have died because they forgot to bring lights or their lights broke. All this makes the world hihgly expensive to visit.
