Twaiknat Station

Large defence platform station in the Gravitational Anomaly Bastion, Arcturus, belonging to the Republic of Miasi.

The Twaiknat Station was initially intended as a stopgap solution to worsening Alti - Miasi relations, in the hopes that they would be able to ward off Alti attacks for long enough to mobilize in the very real possibility of war. The station proved more effective than anticipated though, having destroyed several Alti cruisers and destroyers virtually on its own. As such, the republic kept it there, and upgraded it as much as they could.
However, it was not designed to be expanded, which have made upgrades very difficult. Still, they have managed to place exceptional and relatively modern weaponry on it. Now, the Twaiknat station continues to hold off Alti attacks, but is one of the smaller stations now, though relatively cheap to run, so it will likely be kept in service for an incredibly long time as the Miasi upgrades it over and over. With its small fusion reactor, it can produce enough power to refuel some starships as well as itself.
One of its more potent weapons is a large railgun with an exceptional range partly due to its scale. This 400mm railgun can fire rounds approaching the speed of light - allowing it to tear into almost any hull with ease. Such a large railgun can give the defenders a decent range advantage against most attackers, but will not rival the range of any deep space weapon platform, which do not exist in the Alti (or Miasi) arsenal.
