Forever Bound by Iron or FBI for short is a well regarded mercenary company operating in an around the Orc Domain in Utican. Members of Forever Bound by Iron can be identified by the iron chains they wear around their necks or somewhere on their apparel.
Structure
- Commander: Leader of Forever Bound by Iron. The Commander approves all jobs and personally trains all new mercenaries. The current Commander is Zachary Fisher, a retired legionairre from The Capsan Empire.
- Captain: Officers within Forever Bound by Iron that report directly to the Commander. There are ten Captains within the company.
- Lieutenant: Mercenaries with years of experience. They are permitted to recruit new mercenaries into the company and often decide which mercenaries get which assignments.
- Mercenaries: The primary operatives of the company. Mercenaries handle jobs. They are not permitted to bring new members into the company.
Culture
Forever Bound by Iron is a paramilitary organization that maintains many of the cultural practices observed in the military. Primarily, the chain of command is always followed. However, mercenaries are expected to be self-sufficient problem solvers who conduct themselves in a professional and effective manner.
Public Agenda
Forever Bound by Iron is discerning in the jobs they take. Commander Fisher prioritizes jobs that promote security and safety for civilization. The Commander will accept jobs with a more narrow focus, so long as they do not promote evil and disorder. Commander Fisher is very direct in his views and has told several wealthy and powerful potential employers to find other companies. This has made the company some enemies.
History
Forever Bound by Iron was founded by six weary legion veterans that fought in the Swamp Wars that brought Avernia into The Capsan Empire. When the veterans tour of duty ended they determined that they never wanted to see another swamp again. The six made their way to the coast and used their pay from service to charter a ship to Utican. Once they arrived in Utican they traveled through The Unclaimed Lands to the Kuddo Region of the Orc Domain. The six settled in the city of Galla and used their skills learned in the legions to become mercenaries.
The company developed a reputation for honest, efficient, and professional work. When the original Commander retired for good, she appointed Zachary Fisher as the new Commander. Commander Fisher has since aggressively expanded the company and emphasized recruiting new mercenaries. Commander Fisher also gathered enough funds to purchase the headquarters of the company known as Hogan's Keep, named after the first Commander Brenda Hogan.
