Roche Carrel (roe-sh)
His Majesty, King Roche Carrel
Roche Carrel was the King of Aria after his brother, Alain II, died without issue. He was the second son of King Alain I.
Roche was born in 130 AF, and was a weak and frail child. Often ill and bedridden for extended periods, he was the seeming opposite of his healthy and athletic brother. This was not the only characteristic that the brothers did not share, however. Where Alain II was quite forward and open in his preference towards male companionship, Roche was known as a prodigious philanderer. Married at the age of 17 to a daughter of the Lacan family of the County of Morton, Roche had at least eleven known mistresses after his marriage. He fathered eight children with his wife, and the known illegitimate children number 21 and that number is probably far from the true count.
Roche was crowned King of Aria when his brother, Alain II died. Roche had been named the heir to the throne by Alain in 189 AF, and at the time of his coronation, Roche was 77 years old. He ruled as King for 6 years, and died of lung disease at the Royal Palace at Malamor. He was succeeded by his oldest son, Marcel II.
