Izak Cossmann
The Idealistic head of the Noori Thieves Guild
Izak Cossmann is the head of the Noori thieves guild.
He is relatively unknown in the city, although has managed to build a relatively far reaching organisation under the noses of The Baron.
He first came into contact with The Party when they managed to find their way into the sanctuary where his thieves guild were based. He had sent two of his men to intercept Hans, one of the Baron's men, as he went to pick up a pair of magical daggers. One of the men, Morvan, who was in possession of the daggers was killed prior to getting back to the sanctuary.
His body and the daggers were found by The Party, who subsequently made their way into the sanctuary.
Izak revealed himself to be an idealistic man, who's main gripe with the Baron was his refusal to share his wealth with the people of the city. He did, however, want to negotiate them and see if the two organisations could co-operate. To that end he petitioned the party to bring Hinrich Thiel to the sanctuary so that they could negotiate.
Tula Obinsk, a dwarven member of the guild, explained that Hinrich hated Izak and would likely try to kill him on site. Tula suggested that negotiation wasn't an option - they needed to kill him.
When The Party returned, it was with both Hinrich Thiel and Nordbert Cotton. Izak brought them into the Hiddukel statue room, and started pontificating on their joining forces to help the smallfolk of Noor. He was convinced, extremely quickly, by Nordbert to agree to dissolving the thieves guild and re-joining the Baron's men. Despite this rapid agreement, Tula Obinsk and Dexa Bindevar sprung a trap that they had clearly been planning.
Much to the surprise of the party, Izak was quick to defend Nordbert and Hinrich, even to the point of taking violent action against his very recent compatriots - gleefully hacking and slashing at them in defence of his new allies.
After the battle, Izak willingly left with Nordbert and Hinrich, to an unknown fate.

Personal history
Izak started his life in the warrens of Noor, the lower class area of the city outside of the walls. His father was a miner, and his mother works in an administrative capacity in The Merchant Guild.
He started stealing when he was at a young age, and the profits from whatever he fenced would be given back to his mother and father, and occasionally the community on a wider basis.
As a young adult, he attempted to steal from Hinrich Thiel, who rather than kill him, recruited him. He worked with Hinrich closely, eventually becoming like a protege and a little brother to him. They would work together - extorting, smuggling, racketeering and very occasionally, assassinating.
Izak became disillusioned quickly. Although they made good money, and he was able to bring his parents inside the city walls to the mid tier. He was shocked at times by what he percieved as Hinrich's cruelty - he appeared to enjoy taunting his victims and saw them as beneath him, and would often refer to them as 'cattle'. Unbeknown to Hinrich, Izak became more and more unhappy with the Baron's men.
What he knew was illegality and thieving, but he couldn't continue doing it in a way that continued to exploit people without offering anything back into the communities where they moved.
Things came to a head when Hinrich and Izak went to see Valdemar Obinsk to follow-up on a debt that he owed the Baron. He had borrowed money to open a blacksmith workshop in the city, but was an avid consumer of sharpsugar and lost most of it without making significant movement. The two were sent to talk to him, but Izak was unsure whether they were going to kill him or extort him.
Izak saw the issue as fairly simple, Valdemar had spent all his money - more than what he had borrowed - on sharpsugar, a drug exclusively produced by the Baron. He had funnelled every money back into the Baron, and was hooked on a drug that he wouldn't have been able to access without the Baron - so Izak saw their own culpibility.
Izak also noticed that Tula Obinsk, Valdemar's daughter, was there. He appealed to Hinrich to be lenient with them - instead he taunted Valdemar, who was drunk and high on sugar. When Valdemar made an attempt to run - slowly and ungainly - Hinrich laughed and let him run, enjoying the chase, taunting him as he ran, embellishing his kill.
Izak had seen Hinrich's cruelty for the last time.
He intentionally threw Hinrich off the chase, and saved Valdemar by intentionally pushing him into safehouse belonging to the Baron. He went back to the workshop and saved [Tula as well.
He did not see Hinrich again.
Tula Obinsk turned out to be a talented thief with some magical ability. She had been researching an old shrine to Hiddukel underneath the city. With her help, Izak, Valdemar and Tula managed to find the shrine, and turned it into a sanctuary for the new Noori Thieves Guild.
Since then they have ran a thieving racket, where they steal from members of the higher up merchant's guild and those who have made their wealth from mining. Ostensibly, they re-distribute the wealth to the lower classes of the city, but occasionally he has been accused of keeping more than he give out, and losing himself in his ideology.
He was instrumental in the destruction of his own guild - helping Nordbert Cotton, Hinrich Thiel and The Party to destroy his former allies mere minutes after making a deal with his new ones.
