Ophidium
Ophidium is the homeland of the Yuan-Ti, a species of people with snakelike features, many different forms of them exist, from the barely scaled individuals that could pass as a human, to a full snakelike multiheaded leader of their temple communities. The Yuan-Ti of Ophidium maintain a relatively friendly relationship on the surface level with the other nations of the Vian Desert, but the agents of this nation have been found, at least in the Gotburg Kingdom, to have been manipulating politics, sparking a war between Gotburg and Ophidium that has made little progress in either direction, with powerful magics of Ophidium making their land hostile for would be invaders and the powerful navy of Gotburg halting most counter attacks in their tracks.
Ophidium is built around the worship of Thorn and to a lesser extent Hex. The Hexian Empire actually has a well known, at least to those within Ophidium and the Empire. Priests and Priestesses of Thorn are the leaders of temple cities around the desert, these ziggurat temples tower above the sands and coasts but many of the housing and other important buildings are constructed in underground sprawling complexes.
Disappearances are common for those who are not Yuan-Ti travelling through Ophidium, even trading caravans that bring a lifeblood of outside resources sometimes head home without their caravan members, sometimes these caravans report their fellow members being seduced by Yuan-Ti individuals looking to take a spouse, while others simply go missing with no trace of violence or struggle.
What Ophidium is known for to the rest of the world beyond their intrigue fueled government and specific worship of Thorn, is their specific unique type of magic that they keep a closely guarded secret, only small fragments of it ever leaving to be learned by mages of Vershen and Aurbus, the Blood Magic of Ophidium. This magic is known to warp bodies, turn blood to poison, or even turn someones body into a weapon against themselves, all of these are rumors however, and the true nature of the magic remains mainly a mystery to foreigners.

Thornback Gryphon: A hybrid creature with the body of a gryphon and the tail of a giant scorpion with insectoid wings.
Venomfruit Tree: Bears fruit with a poisonous outer layer but a sweet, safe inner core.
