Anvil

Anvil is a small village in the north of the Pagan Plains in northwestern Allansia.
The people are simply peasants and loggers, with most of their income gathered from trading their harvest with travellers that stop by occasionally at the village. Some of the more adventurous folk work up north the mountains, digging for rich minerals. The villagers lead simple but peaceful lives. The village sits in a patch of woods the locals call The Old Forest Trial, which leads east to the foothills of Firetop Mountain.
However, upon mentioning the word "Zagor", eyes start to dart nervously and murmurs creep behind backs. It is known that the fearful presence of a great warlock near Firetop Mountain has the people on edge, as foul things such as missing livestock and withering crops are immediately linked to the mountain.

Politics and Factions

  Chief
The villagers elect an elder known as the Village Chief. Currently, the Chief is unwell and is tended by his many sons and daughters. The villagers only gather for festivals or harvests, in which petty squabbles arise for best market spots for wares. Other than those days, everyone goes about their own businesses. The second in command, Harbin, is a blundering fool, and let brigands get the better of him because he thinks the problem is better kept mum.
  Blackmarked Bandits
Blackmarked Bandits are petty thugs and ruthless enforcers skilled at intimidation and violence. They work for money and have no scruples. Overtime, more and more such lowlife came to the village, at the prospect of an easy life and picking. The leader of the ring is a man named Gustav.

Drinking establishments in Anvil include The Two Moons tavern, Double Duck, and Hullgrim's Alehouse. The former is ran by a friendly barkeep the locals call Moose (NG male human commoner). At Double Duck you will find drunk dwarves who prospects in the mines further up north, and gamble away their wages.
Amaric runs the local weapons' shop, Sword & Shields, but he does not smith.
Mystic Mary's is the local soothsayer, who lives alone by herself near the edge of the villager, surrounded by her thirty cats.
There are no guilds to be found in the city, but there is a Miner's Exchange who is ran by a lady called Talia (CN, female human spy). She is part of a larger miner's guild and is tasked to inspect the village whether would it make a reasonable outpost for the mines to the north. As she is always busy, she sends adventurers in her steed to explore mines.
Before Tresendar Manor was ruined, its cellars served as safe storage for food and water in the event that the estate was attacked, while an adjoining crypt provided a resting place for the deceased members of the Tresendar family. The Blackmarks have since expanded the cellars to suit their own purposes, adding slave pens, workshops, and barracks.
