Calthis Brightbow

Calthis Brightbow is an Elf Ranger who patrolled the Mistwood and the other wild places around the town of Seowyn's Crossing on the orders of Lord Ranger Arun Longstrider. The band of elves he travels with only comes into town itself a few times a year, usually during the Faires in order to trade goods. When they do, Calthis always visits the Minstrel's Tarry, home of his beloved, Tilomena Holdfast, and her son, the Half-Elf Tristan, who is his nephew. Tristan is the son of Tillie and Tythas Brightbow, Calthis’ estranged and hated brother, who forced himself on Tillie, possibly under the influence of the guidestar, Caiphon. Calthis has tried to hunt down his brother and to be something of a father to Tristan. He eventually explained Tristan's conception to the young half-elf, then left, consumed with guilt for not having protected the woman he loved. He has not been seen in some time.
