Common Tongue

The Common Tongue is a language made up of a mish-mash of cultural sources. Although its base is the tongue of Summerling Humans, it has borrowed many elements from other languages. Eladrin hunting, musical, and poetic terms, Draconic arcane phrases, Halfling slang, Dwarven legal terminology, Goblinoid military jargon, and even Orcish profanity has found its way into the Common Tongue over time.
During the original Conclave of the Seven Kingdoms, the Common Tongue was officially adopted as the region's trade language, and it’s rare to find a member of any sentient race dwelling on Aldorath who doesn’t have at least a working knowledge of the Tongue.
