Fallen Gelekgurth is a ruined
Eladrin city in southeastern
Tavanion on the eastern side of the
Gelekwode. Originally named Gelekavor (Gelek’s Brow), it became known as Gelekgurth (Gelek’s Death) following a tragedy.
Drow marauders from the
Underdark destroyed the city and used it as a kind of trap to lure adventurous explorers to their dooms for years. Eventually Eladrin came to destroy the drow, aided by the
Treant Gelek Greenroots, for whom the forest is named. Although Gelek lost their life in battle, the Eladrin prevailed. The drow were drive back into the depths, and the ways down into the Underdark were sealed and warded. A kind of darkness seems to continue to haunt the city, leading many to think that an evil still lurks in the Gelekwode.
