Tavanion Overview

Tavanion was the Kingdom of the Eladrin-in-Exile, situated on the southwestern coast of Aldorath, south of the forest of Neldorin. Its capital city was Gwyllan's Watch, built partly in the Feywild. It was ruled by the Esavol (High Mage) of the eladrin-in-exile. Its flag depicted a Golden Gryphon on a Red Field. Because the Esavol of Tavanion was the first to call the Conclave of the Seven Kingdoms, their flag depicts a crown over the gryphon’s head.
Tavanion traded magic and textiles to the Elves of Faerinwold in exchange for venison and bows. They then traded the bows to the Hastane for coal. They also traded honey to the Halfling of Dalenshire for dyes, which they then traded to the Dwarves of Kurdenheim for fine weapons.
The last Esavola of Tavanion was Maraliana ap Kadishai, a Wizard of the Golden Wyvern mage’s tradition. After the partial destruction of Gwyllan’s Watch by the Tarrasque, Esavola Maraliana took as much of the city into the Feywild as she could. Following this devastation, she decided that the Eladrin would return to the Feywild completely. Her son, Prince Belerion ap Kadishai rejected this idea. He remained behind to rule those who could not leave, to rebuild Gwyllan’s Watch, and to aid those who face the Tarrasque instead of fleeing from it. With his death at the Battle of Worldbreaker's Howe, however, some wonder at Tavanion's funeral. At his funeral, the Prince's sword, Palangurth, was seized and carried off by a silver gryphon. The Satyr oracle Elegy stated that whoever claimed the sword would return Tavanion to a time of glory.
