Gelek Greenroots

Gelek Greenroots was a Treant who dwelled in the forest that the Eladrin named the Gelekwode in their honor. Gelek lived there for many millennia before the Eladrin came, tending the trees and managing the forest, protecting it from occasional forays by Goblinoids from Gristamere. When the Eladrin came, Gelek befriended them, and the treant permitted them to carefully dwell in the forest.

When one of the two cities they built there, Gelekavor, was attacked by Drow from the Underdark, Gelek joined the eladrin to destroy them. In the battle, the Drow summoned a terrible Demon of Lolth, a Yochlol, and Gelek fought against this unnatural monstrosity. Although they destroyed the yochlol, Gelek gave their own life in the battle. The Eladrin sadly laid their friend to rest and called the city where they had passed Fallen Gelekgurth (Gelek’s Death). Gelek was named one of the Eladrin Elenta Ayaeri after their passing.
