Those Who Answer

Those Who Answer is a quiet organization of ordinary people who are tired of the dangers in their lives during this time of chaos and near lawlessness. They want to find a way to improve matters, and they are answering a symbolic call for action and service in their communities.

Although they keep their organization somewhat quiet, they can be recognized by their symbol, a simple wooden slate, painted green with a white five-fingered hand on it. The hand represents their five tenets of Humility, Diligence, Compassion, Sacrifice, and Community.

Ultimately, it was revealed that Those Who Answer had actually been created by a group called the Five Who Call to help them release the Tarrasque from imprisonment. Each member of the group felt under a curse of mind-control and journeyed through portals into the Elemental Chaos where they were led to the Temple of Elemental Evil. They chanted the prayers demanded of them by Kaldakos Greysails, and, once the Tarrasque was freed, so were they, with no memory of where they were, how they’d gotten there, and what they had done. Elswara Wellheart opened a gate back to Estwald, and they are now being aided in returning to their homes.

Despite the dark origins of the group, many members still consider the idea worthwhile and are continuing to use the symbol and organization for good.
