Hadozen of Melokthor
Defender of Melokthor
Body Features & Mental Characteristics
Hadozen is a fairly tall blue-skinned Rune Guardian. He is willing to do just about anything to gather knowledge regarding arcane means of defense for his home city of Melokthor .Personal history
Hadozen was born in Melokthor somewhere in the 1200s after the Great War. The exact date is impossible to track, as time is too loosely tracked in the depths of the ocean. The young man rapidly showed promise, being particularly intelligent compared to other kids of his age. He was also rapidly in-tune with the Arcane Crystal standing tall in the middle of the city. His runes started developing earlier than other Melokthorians and he rapidly showed signs of being a strong spellcaster. At 3 years old, he accidentally imbued his stuffed animal, a white sable plush. The plush was named Zibeline and quickly developed its own consciousness and identity. As a prodigy, Hadozen was chosen, by the end of his teens, to become the new Walker, an honorary and highly respected role attributed to a citizen of the underwater city every few centuries. His responsability was quite simple: wander out into the world, in search of new and updated ways to defend Melokthor, as the secret of its Arcane Crystal must continue to be defended efficiently. Leaving with his trusted Zibeline, he departed and started his researches rapidly. The pair, dazzled by the beauty and vastness of the world, embarked on a journey to discover new means of defense for Melokthor. Their searches led them to a supposedly powerful artifact hidden deep within a glacier in the northern regions of Icewind Dale . Unfortunately, they got caught into a magical wind of cold and frost that froze them for over two centuries. In 1492 after the Great War, Hadozen and Zibeline are found and rescued by the Golden Company , which they eventually join. Zibeline set out to discover the world with the adventuring party, searching for ways to push back the limitations of magic, leaving Hadozen behind in his books. At the beginning of 1493, Hadozen's high intelligence and magical capacities are observed by Tomekeeper Johnny Sins from Candlekeep . He takes the young rune guardian in for tutelage. Only a year later, Hadozen is promoted to the prestigious role of First Reader of Candlekeep, putting him high on the prospect list to become the next Keeper of Tome after Sins. At the end of 1494, he is convicted, after a thorough investigation led by his former colleagues from the Golden Company, to the charges of conspiracy to the murder of Johnny Sins, and to accessory after the fact. He is not executed, due to the Golden Company speaking on behalf of him only being exiled. The group still had loose ties to Hadozen and did not want to see him dead, mainly due to the fact that the very life essence of Hadozen was linked to Zibeline. Hadozen's researches for Melokthor were probably destroyed or archived, no one but the new Keeper of Tome Fheminor Scrivenbark really knows. As for his spellbook, it was given in secret by Fheminor to the Golden Company, as a token of appreciation. Hadozen now lurks somewhere within the lands of Faerûn, his plans for the future known to none but himself.Education
Hadozen was mostly self-taught, as he would rapidly outgrow any teacher that would meet him. That was until he found a good match under the tutelage of Johnny Sins.Employment
He was chosen as Walker for Melokthor and worked for a year as First Reader of Candlekeep.Wealth & Financial state
Hadozen considers his wealth to be knowledge. Financially, he has a hard time surviving ever since his exile, but his high intelligence allows him to hustle around enough to maintain a decent lifestyle.
