Powerful warlord that unified most civilized races on Yllara, creating the largest empire the world has ever seen and ending the War of a Thousand Years during the Age of Rebirth.
Ourania Themis was a half-elf who was raised by humans and trained to yield The Weave by the Mer'anin in Asparia. An extremely talented spellcaster, she quickly developed her own ambitions about the world. When she was appointed as an advisor to one of the other kingdoms, she used her position to usurp the local tyrant. Very soon, her and her allies had conquered most of the known world and unified it under her rule.
Her most important allies were the Elves of Myfenor, who aided her by providing military and magic assistance. She also got tremendous support from the country of Eldarir, who (even to this day) remains the only country in the world to produce Veinstone.
Themis founded a specialized order of fighters called The Red Blades, who she used to combat the magical might of the Vor'anin and the Mer'anin. Armed with Veinstone weapons and the knowledge of how magic operates thanks to the Elves of Myfenor, The Red Blades were a tremendous weapon against spellcasters.
She ruled her empire from the city of Themis, which is now the capital of Arissos. Ourania Themis ruled her vast empire for over 200 years, until she mysteriously disappeared. After her disappearance, her empire was carved up and divided into smaller provinces that eventually became independent countries, a mix of Themis' empire and their older, ancient roots.
