Floods of Cyrriane
The Floods of Cyrriane is a freezing glacial river that thunders down from the icy heights of the Broken Spine of Salazar. The river winds its way through the rugged terrain, carving deep gorges and creating thundering waterfalls as it descends towards the lowlands. The sound of the rushing water is a constant roar that echoes through the mountains.
The source of the Floods of Cyrriane is located at the precipice of the northern-most section of the Broken Spine of Salazar, where the mountain range is embraced by a freezing touch that has chilled the torrents that flow from its core for centuries. The river is fed by the melting ice and snow from the peaks of the mountain range, creating a powerful and fast-moving current that is both beautiful and deadly as it reaches its final destination of the Gulf of Bartholomew and further out into the Torrose, cutting directly through The Heartlands of the Empire. The water is crystal clear, with a pale blue color that shimmers like blue topaz in the sunlight, while its mountain origin is a place of danger and is a place where only the most skilled mountaineers venture.
The Floods of Cyrriane is known for its purity and is said to be the best drinking water in the world. The glacial origin of the water ensures that it is free of pollutants and impurities, and the cold temperatures keep it fresh and crisp. The taste is crisp, clean and invigorating, an experience that is unmatched. The smell of the water is fresh and clean, like the mountain air after a snowstorm.
Further downstream, the river is a source of fish and other aquatic life, making it a valuable resource for the people living along its banks. The river is also home to many beautiful and exotic creatures, such as the shimmering rainbow trout and the elusive river otter.
