Keep of Miserth

Standing tall at the epicenter of The Triskele is the Keep of Miserth, the Three-Bridge Keep, that watches over the coursing rapids of the Floods of Cyrriane. So named for its positioning on the Triskele and its three independent drawbridges that connect the intersecting pathes across the floods and also leads to Miserth Castle of House Lanne.   Both the keep and castle are in critical areas both in times of peace and war controlling a critical section of the Great Road. The bridges can be lowered and raised independently, opening and cutting off supply lines and trade routes at a whim though the bridge and keep are kept open to travelers on the Lanne's good faith and peaceful nature. The keep itself can be readily and effectively garrisoned by a small company of soldiers, numbers that have repelled sieges of several thousands due to the ineffectiveness of large siege weapons and the narrowness and curvature of the Triskele's walkways barely allows for two carriages to pass each other by. The keep is also less than a half day's march from Miserth Castle allowing the keep to be constantly refreshed with supplies or reinforcements from the north. Many have tried to march upon Miserth Castle from across the Triskele, all have failed. The only time that Miserth Castle was successfully besieged was by its own Lady Lanne at the Siege of Frightened Fire during the Lost Emperor Uprising.
