Magi-Corps
The Magi-Corps is the arcane, paramilitary force of the Grand Army of Salvae that are stationed in Arine.
During the cataclysms of The Sundering, handfuls of powerful magic users made their mark on the forefathers of Bartholomew Voloken in their abilities to change the tides of battle and chaos, regardless of the Schools of Magic the mage specialized in; each had their uses, but allused them to deadly effect and results.
But magic is still a rare and powerful thing as death, destruction, and corruption are still the fate of those that try to bend these infinate energies to their whim; many never reaching the lofted heights from legends of old. Today their members number a few thousand and they are scattered across Kalbela, where they assist members of the Academy of Arine in finding new students or, in rare cases, training them by their own cognition, as the Magi-Corps is one of the outlets for those studying at the academy for those that show promise in magical warfare.
