honourable trader house
The first and lowest rank in the Alteron Protectorate's Honourable Trader Houses is a honourable trader house.
This of this rank is a craftsman or a family owning a small merchant ship, provided there is some success or history behind this business.
A Mastercraftsman or -trader opening a business is not automatically granted this rank. It has to be earned by being successful for at least three years in a row. And successful means that a reasonable profit has been generated and maintained for that time and a positive reputation has been gained and upheld.
As a rule of thumb it takes about five years for a master to gain that status, as the training of at least one Journeyman in the craft is often mandatory and always encouraged.
