Almaheva

The Seventh Heaven Almaheva, also known as the Prime Star, poetically as the Prismatic Eye, or as Paradise in Axiomatic liturgy, sits at the center of the Firmament and is the font of all light that suffuses the spheres of existence. The rays it gives off are of every prismatic hue in a continually shifting way, painting the sky and ground in its colors. It is the Throne of the celestial god Mitra, and sometimes the sun is referred to simply as Mitra because of this. Any who claims Almaheva gains sovereignty over the Principle of Good, becoming the Overgod. On the surface of the Terrestrial Sphere, it appears as a bright sun in the sky, occluded by the Mantles both Misty and Starry during day and night respectively. Physically, it is a three-dimensional disk bulging in the center, like all other stars, that spins on its own axis slowly, which creates the day-night cycle on the Terrestrial Sphere as it appears to open and close like a winking eye (thus one of its sobriquets). Its tilt also creates a geographic divisions of climate, with the belt that only ever sees its edge known as the Gloaming, an Equator-like zone that is darker and colder than the rest of the world and includes the continent of Perdita and the northern portion of Algoboa. However, unlike the Earth's Equator, if you conceive of the world as having two poles in the Land of Nod and Turulsul, it is not found immediately between them, nor would it follow a line of latitude. It is the only celestial body that is not affixed to the crystalline spheres of the Firmament. Instead, all the spheres move in orbit around its Principle, and it is always the centermost point in this universe.   The Axiomatic Church teaches that the pious ascend to Almaheva to join in communion with Mitra for eternity. It is a promise of immortality through faith, of a breaking of the Chain that rules over most mortal souls. However, (heretical) accounts by travelers through the celestial spheres claim it as much fortress as blissful sojourn, as the angels there prepare eternal to defend the Heavens against threats from without, and within.
