Asphodel

Asphodel, the Eighth Hell, appears as a great silent forest of impossibly large trees made of bone and with brass leaves, where the sky is not visible beyond the canopy but ash falls perpetually like snow. Shaped like a massive funnel, It slopes perpetually towards its center, much like Abaddon far above, where a great orifice opens into the inky blackness of Caina. It is aptly called Malbolge, or more commonly the "asshole of Hell", and all tributaries of the Acheron, the infernal part of the Golling, are directed here, and spill in an eternal waterfall, where all souls not worthy of being extracted by devils are torn apart by demons of the Infinite Abyss. Mephistopheles rules as archdevil here and over the Principle of Betrayal.
