Crowned Peaks
A small range rising to three peaks. Myths in the land say that Moradin, the god of creation, is the patron deity of the city below the peaks, Dalth'it. The mountains rise up from the northern Dalth Foothills to the peaks. The mountains have been used to justify Dalth'it's hold of sovereign rule over Evoria, since the peaks resemble the peaks of a crown, ergo their rule is literally written in stone. Of course, Hlee contests this ruling, but many see Dalth'it as the real head of government. This reasoning also led to the War of the Throne, among other reasons.
The peaks themselves contain minerals such as copper, iron, and, allegedly, mithril. The dwarves claim hold over the mithril and struck a deal with Dalth'it in 2E 542 to mine what they could, giving the iron and copper and whatever else in exchange to keep the mithril. This has caused a large influx of dwarven migrants and several mining guilds, chiefly The Mithril Patrol.Unfortunately, with the wealth came those to take the wealth, and some thieving guilds appeared. The most prolific was The Knot, which formed specifically to interlope and steal from the mithril trade in the city.
Cloud Giant live in the upper peaks, and are on good terms with the humanoids below.
