A dispute between the Kedwin and Flyrbjorn chapters of the Ore Merchant's Guild escalated to violence before being resolved by the respective rulers of the two duchies. The Duke of Kedwin, Kelrex Amon, chose to profit by saturating the market with surplus ore. As a result, the ore market was destabilized, and House Amon of Kedwin became reviled by guilds throughout Valeria.
