Gides
God of Wine & Revelry
Though not the most devoutly worshipped of the gods, none are so popular among the general populace of Valine as Gides. Their domains of wine and revelry also encompass other intoxicating substances - ale, mead, mind-altering drugs etc. They even stray into the territory of Udros, with the god of music's permission, though the ribald music of revelry strays somewhat from the fine artistry that is Udros's concentration.
Child of a god and a demigod - the somewhat unusual pairing of Mottuna, Goddess of Fire, and Bulir the Envious, the First Demon and demigod of Envy - Gides is a frequent visitor to Valine, preferring the form of an intersexual halfling with demonic aspects (usually horns, a tail and small bat-like wings). Sometimes this has Gides' avatar mistaken for a half-halfling/half-tiefling, but Gides just likes to give a nod to his demonic heritage.
Where Gides appears (or listens to prayers), a good time follows. However, the god is rarely present to deal with the consequences left in their wake. Some swear off Gides' influence forever in the aftermath of revelry - regardless of Gides' actual presence at a celebration - but of those who do, most are pulled back in by the promise of respite from their day-to-day life.
