Zadkush
God of Light (a.k.a. The Dawn Lord)
The Dawn Lord oversees the domain of light, which includes not just the sun, but the stars and moon. Lunar cycles, tidal patterns, eclipses - all of these fall under the purview of Zadkush. Yet it is not Zadkush's intent to fill the dark places of the world with light or to eradicate darkness. Dark has its place in the universe, and some places - and beings - need the dark. Introducing light in the wrong time and place creates unnecessary shadow and, as churches of Zadkush teach, shadows are both the realm of deception and the clue that exposes a lie.
Zadkush himself has rarely appeared in person on Valine as, no matter what form he takes, the light within exposes his divine origin. When he has appeared, his favored form is that of a glowing half-elf/half-grippli warrior. Almost too radiant for most mortals to behold, his inability (or unwillingness) to dim the divine light when taking an avatar form has been seen as a lack of control over his domain.
Indeed of all the gods, Zadkush seems the most distractable from his charge. Eclipses are not an uncommon occurrence on Valine and the constellations in the night sky are variable. Seafaring on Valine developed by other methods than navigation by the stars, which proved such an unreliable source of fixing points in the sky.
Tehsus and Zadkush have had a long standing love affair which has produced two other gods, Mano and Qyrad. Ades the Mad and Zadkush have long been at odds, as the affair has hardly been kept a secret and, despite Ades' lack of interest in his divine marriage to Tehsus, the slight of Zadkush's open dalliances with his spouse rankles with Ades the Mad. On Valine, the churches of Zadkush and the temples of Ades are openly hostile to each other.
