Atron
The Empire of Atron, commonly known as Atron or the Atronine Empire, and occasionally as the Quartered Realm, is Eaqaal's greatest empire, with territory comprising most of Eaqaal's largest island, Audoya. Cajal serves as the empire's administrative, political, and military headquarters. The Atronine civilisation, which is ruled by metallic dragonborn, originated in the late 600s from the southern highlands of Audoya.
Using conquest and peaceful absorption, among other tactics, the Atronine have integrated a major chunk of southwest Audoya, focused on the Vulture's Nest Mountains, from 909 until the present.
The Atronine Empire is distinct in that it lacks many of the characteristics of civilization seen elsewhere on Valine. Without the use of the wheel, draft animals, iron or steel expertise, or even a writing system, the Atronine built one of Valinian history's most powerful imperial powers. The Atronine Empire is known for its magnificent buildings, particularly masonry, as well as its enormous road network that reaches all parts of the empire and exquisitely woven textiles. Their use of knotted strings for record keeping and communication, agricultural inventions and productivity in a challenging environment, and the structure and management encouraged or imposed on its people and labor are all noteworthy.
The Atronine Empire operates mainly without the use of money or markets. Instead, commodities and services are exchanged on the basis of reciprocity between people, organizations, and Atronine rulers. "Taxes" are a person's work obligations to the Empire. The Atronine kings (who technically possess all means of production) reward their followers by offering them access to land and goods, as well as supplying food and drink at festive feasts.
Many local forms of worship still exist in the empire, the majority of which revolve around local sacred items, but the Atronine leadership promoted Zadkush worship and imposed its authority over other faiths, including that of Jopha, the other most adored deity. The Exarca Atron, the Atronine ruler, was known as the "Child of Zadkush." Gama is strangely idolized only in secret, as the Atronine leadership wishes her to be revered while simultaneously downplaying their intrinsic ties to the Indomitable Empress in favor of instilling a feeling of divinity upon the Exarca Atron.

Demography and Population
The Atron population is somewhere in the region of 12,000,000 souls. Around 2/3 of the population are dragonborn, the majority of metallic dragon type. Other major species in the empire are humans, orcs, dwarves and giff.
Religion
The state encourages worship of the Exarca Atron and of Zadkush. Jopha the Verdant is a popular deity. Worship of Gama is important to both the ruling class and the general populace, but is done is private. The other gods are venerated, but largely limited to shrines rather than impressive temples.
