The Floats

The Floats is collection of a score of barges lashed together and anchored out in Rivern Lake. These are the barged and homes of the Toadies, a group of half-elves who run river transportation up and down the Horn River. This collection of barges is made up of their work barges and older barges that have been turned into their permanent homes where the Toadies live and trade.

"The Toadies run the barge traffic on the Horn river, no doubt. Getting you and your goods where they need to be is almost a matter of honor for them, but on land they're a different story. I wouldn't trust 'em in town not to try stealing your clothes while you're wearing 'em." - Tabonry dock worker

All barge traffic along the river must go through the Toadies, or they will cause plenty of trouble for the merchants who use someone else. Most business can be done with their representatives on the docks of Tabonry and Mearscon. Few have reason to travel out to The Floats itself.
