Personal history
Ryu and Sumire were born to Aoi Kosaka out of wedlock. The two grew up in poverty never knowing who their father was, largely depending on the charity made available through St. Anne's Church in the Elven Quarter of Olbrin as their mother worked to provide and care for them.
Education
Ryu and his sister received limited schooling from St. Anne's Church as children. They were able to achieve functional literacy and numeracy thanks to being tutored by Zachary Blackwater
Employment
Ryu has worked mostly as a petty thief, using his skill with Night magic to conceal himself. However, his history as a criminal has been detrimental to his chances of finding honest work to support himself.
Recently, Ryu has begun trying to find success as a relic hunter searching Dwarven ruins.
Accomplishments & Achievements
His success in performing the First Binding is a source of pride for Ryu. Not only did he find a fine feathered companion in Sora, it was also an important moment shared between him and his mother as the latter was able to pass a piece of her heritage on to him.
Failures & Embarrassments
Ryu sees his use of magic as a thief as this. He hates feeling as though he's playing into Yoru's reputation as thieves and tricksters, the same stereotype that lead to him having to steal in the first place.
