Betz and Gonrey have one of the closer relationships among the party and frequently work together on smaller tasks.

Towards the end of their quest, Betz warmed to Korick after learning of his circumstances. Korick took a liking to Betz, seeing some of himself in him. He offered him his signature weapon upon his death.

Betz thinks Korick's existence is unnatural and is only helping him with his quest so that he will die a natural death.

Betz turned Halka in for a bounty, despite both being Shadar Kai and hailing from Skotal.

Betz attempted to court Madam Castallette at a ball. He failed in his initial attempts. But Gonrey played a song from his native people and Betz led the Lady in a dance he knew well. Ceelia warmed slightly after that point.

Betz and Gonrey helped Ion reunite with his ex-wife at the masked ball. He is grateful to them for that.
